The hospital is in search of an additional Anesthesiologist who can work alongside other specialists to support their mission for a team-based approach to specialty veterinary care. Third year residents are welcome to apply.
The hospital is a VECCS Level 1 facility encompassing 18,000 sq ft (with plans for upcoming new hospital build) that currently offers 24 hour emergency in addition to Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Radiology, Nutrition, Anesthesiology and Critical Care. In addition, within the hospital exists CARE, a complementary rehabilitation and pain management center. Attached to the hospital is an IDEXX reference laboratory, which enables accurate test results with a fast turnaround time for hospitalized patients.
Their Anesthesiology Service works closely with the other specialists in providing multimodal pain control and anesthetic protocols tailored for each patient. They offer state-of-the-art equipment (dedicated multi-parameter monitors including invasive pressure monitoring, nerve stimulator, dedicated ultrasound machine) in addition to top of the line anesthesia machines (Draeger Apollo, GE Aestiva, Moduflex Optimax with Bain adapter. A complete in-house lab is also available to optimize efficiency for the anesthesia service.
This individual will be responsible for creating anesthetic and analgesic protocols for surgical patients +/- endoscopic patients; overseeing technicians monitoring and managing anesthetized patients; consulting with other clinicians regarding sedation protocols; and shared after-hours call-in for emergency surgeries.
