The Role
• 4 Days per week
• The starting salary is £32,000 per year. This may be on the lower side, but this is because they don’t want there to be any pressure on you to earn the clinic money, it gives you the time to train up without any pressure. Please bear in mind that they do review salaries very regularly, so their vets do continue to get regular pay rises.
• Weekends on a rota basis
• £1,500 + 5 Days CPD
• No OOHs
• Certificates Supported
• VDS & MRCVS Memberships Paid + 1 More
• After 3 months have passed, we will pay your yearly RCVS renewal fees, and we will pay for your insurance.
• Extra training and CPD is encouraged and funded
About the Practice/Location
This corporately owned group is looking for new veterinary surgeon to join their team.
This group practices are mainly small animal, but see some exotics also (reptiles, birds, ferrets). Their main branch has: 2 operating theatres, cat ward, dog ward, isolation ward, 4 consultation rooms, digital x-rays, and ultrasound scanner. They are constantly expanding and improving our facilities. For the first few months, you would work alongside our head vet a. The head vet is a very skilled surgeon and is currently doing an advanced certificate in small animal surgery.
You would be working an average of 40 hours per week. Initially this would only be day shifts. Eventually there may be some weekend work. Once you have gained a lot more experience, there may also be some night shifts involved, but this would only be when you are ready and confident.
They have a good support system. At their main branch, there is normally 3-4 vets on each day, as well as multiple nurses, nursing assistants, receptionists, and managers. The support staff are all very knowledgeable and help support our new vets. We are a very close, friendly team.
They’re very busy; they see a lot of clinical and surgical cases. They normally have 5-10 surgeries every day. They perform a wide range of surgeries, such as: neutering, lumpectomies, c-sections, airway surgery, eye surgeries, exploratory laparotomies, urethrostomies, and more. We also work closely with an orthopaedic vet, who visits us regularly for various orthopaedic surgeries.
