The Role

A very exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our clients friendly and supportive team at their hospital in Shrewsbury.

We are currently seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our four-vet team. A general interest in medicine and surgery with a view to doing a certificate in a particular field or a certificate holder would be an advantage but not essential. We value a client-oriented approach and excellent communication skills.

This role is full time as you will be on a four-day week rota with one weekend every six weeks (Saturday and Sunday daytime).

Salary & Benefits

  • We offer a very competitive salary package of £45,000-£65,000 including

Skills and Experience

A general interest in medicine and surgery with a view to doing a certificate in a particular field or a certificate holder would be an advantage. A proficiency in soft tissue surgery to the level of enterectomies, splenectomies, gastrotomies etc is essential. Proficiency in more complex surgeries such as GDV is desirable.

We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with the skills to perform first opinion consultations and hospital work including soft tissue surgery, medical workups and in-patient care. We find this usually requires at least 3 years’ experience in small animal practice, although some candidates may have reached this point sooner.

MRCVS required.
