The hopspital is seeking an Internist who can work alongside other specialists to provide collaborative care in a positive, collegial manner.
The hospital is a VECCS Level 1 facility encompassing 18,000 sq ft (with plans for upcoming new hospital build) that currently offers 24 hour emergency in addition to Surgery, Oncology, Radiology, Nutrition, Anesthesiology and Critical Care. In addition, within the hospital exists CARE, a complementary rehabilitation and pain management center. Attached to the hospital is an IDEXX reference laboratory, which enables accurate test results with a fast turnaround time for hospitalized patients. The criticalists work 3-4 days shifts per week.

The IMed Service is equipped to provide the highest standards of care and evidence-based. The IMed Suite was recently renovated and offers a beautiful quite work space. The endoscopic tower was recently upgraded, and additional scopes to allow for cystoscopy, ureteroscopy and bronchoscopy in small patients were added. They maintain an in-house stock of blood products as well as an active community whole blood donor program to support the needs of transfusion patients. They are also equipped with a HiFlo Nasal Oxygen Unit.
Do you enjoy teaching? Great! They also host an ER Immersion Program for new veterinary school grads interested in ER – a program in which all specialists are involved. They also host an internship program with an 88% success rate on matching interns with residencies.
Ultrasound capabilities is desired but not required, as they are fortunate to have a skilled Radiologist to perform advanced ultrasounds for both in-patients and out-patients.
