• Salary between £31,000 – £40,000 Depending on Experience

This practice are looking for a New or Recent Graduate Small Animal Vet to join their Small Animal Veterinary Hospital based in South Wales.
This practice have extensive experience of employing new or recent graduate Vets, with many of our current Vets having started their professional careers with ourselves and understand that although you graduate with your day one competencies, it takes time to develop confidence in your abilities.
With the assistance of our fantastic and diverse team of nurses, support colleagues, and Vets (including advanced practitioners in both medicine and surgery) they would relish the opportunity to assist you in developing your skills and grow your confidence within the profession, allowing you to flourish.
As a practice, they host regular in-house CPD and clinical clubs. You would also be eligible to join any of the countless number of special interest groups within the corporate nationwide, allowing you to discuss, amongst many other things, complicated cases, new literature, or upcoming CPD with fellow peers from all over the UK.
The job currently involves a varied mixture of consulting, medical investigations, and surgical caseloads. Vets generally have 1 full operating day a week and 3 days of consulting, operating, and procedures.
Once your confidence has grown, you will be encouraged to carry out some branch work, with the reassurance of always having the ability to ask for help when needed. Veterinary Surgeons currently work a 1:12 out-of-hours rolling rota, which includes 2 part weekends, 2 Saturday mornings, and 1 week of nights. The remaining 11 weeks are an average 4-day week. Whilst on-call you will always have the full support of one of our friendly senior Veterinary clinicians who will be there to advise and help you with anything that you may need.
